How is Colin (Matt Damon) getting whacked by Staff Sergeant Dignam (Mark Wahlberg) in The Departed not on this list? That has to be the most satisfying peripeteia end scene ever.
Interesting take on NCFOM as I don't see Bell getting a deserved final scene... but this really had me debating if my read on it was wrong. Also, we share the same favorite shot in this film (though my #2 is the cat in the hotel).

In fairness, Hushpuppy does tell her alcoholic father, "I hope you die and after you die I'll go to your grave and eat birthday cake all by myself." I mean, A+, right there.

Ohhh good one! It can definitely be high in the list, these are just films that I felt fairly passionate about. It’s certainly not an exhaustive one.
Completely understand. Matt Damon really channeled his inner weasel in the role and the ending (while emotionally draining) was immensely satisfying.
