Tres Colours trilogy, specifically Bleu, was the first time in a movie theater I was moved to absolute tears. It broke me and spoke to me in a way that I didn’t know was possible. Love seeing Malcolm X and Watermelon Woman on here as well.
Love this list. Especially the inclusions of the Three Colors trilogy and Belle de Jour. Need to rewatch them, and watch the others here that I haven't seen.
I personally find The Graduate to be overrated, the only good things in that movie are Anne Bancroft and the Simon & Garfunkel songs. The Benjamin character and Mrs Robinson's daughter are dull as hell.
I remember being the age of the younger characters when the film came out and having a huge feeling of empathy for not just the boredom but for the aimlessness of Benjamin. That aimlessness was actually behind me by a year or two - ennui I called it. But what a powerful memory of recent feeling.
I vibed hard with that list. Being almost 60 years old I don’t recommend vibing too hard. 😊
Hahahahahaha, love this 😂

An excellent film to cry to in the theatre 🙂↕️ Thank you for your comment and engagement as always, Brian!

Haha I hear you! But I think the dullness is the point as frustrating it may be 😂
Fun list. I'd love more "X films that..." from you!
inaugural final scene list is coming next month 🫡
