I haven't seen Digger yet but was planning to catch it. The trailers look deranged and I'm not sure they connected with a general mainstream audience, and that coupled with TC's lack of press maybe it never stood a chance. The marketing blitz around the last couple of Mission Impossible's were so OTT that it almost spoiled the cinema experience
Yeah agreed! I think a campaign that's more reflective of what the film is about would make the film more appealing to people. But as I argue in the essay, for that to happen, TC would have to engage with what the film is actually about which is inherently massively political
